There are certain sayings in the American language that should never, ever, ever be banned. Sayings like “Would you like fries with that?” and “It’s 2 for 1 drinks tonight.” Then there are sayings that should be banned faster than the democrats can ban the free market.
“I’m an aspiring…” You can aspire to be an Olympic Athlete, the President, to have a hot body or even just to be successful.
You don’t aspire to be a writer, actor or singer. You don’t have to be making millions you just have to be engaging in your craft. Saying you’re “aspiring” to be something belittles what you’re doing with your life now.“Thanks for putting up with me.” Why are you thanking your significant other for “putting up” with you? You put up with eating ramen noodles for six months because you’re broke, you don’t “put up” with someone. Staying with someone who is just putting up with you is like going to the gym, at first you feel great and then a few weeks in you realize what a horrible idea it was.
“It’s probably a stupid idea but…” Stop prefacing your ideas and thoughts with a derogatory remark about it because if you actually thought it was stupid you wouldn’t have wanted to share it in the first place. And if you genuinely think it’s a stupid idea please don’t waste my time forcing me to listen to it and then have to awkwardly agree with you on how stupid that idea was. Binge eating chinese food before wearing a crop top to the bar is a stupid idea, business ventures are not. Have confidence in your ideas and remember, someone invented the pool noodle and is now a billionaire.
