There are some quotes in life like “It’s not the amount of breaths you take but the moments that take your breath away.” that should really be abolished from any and all motivational speeches. However there’s a few that if taken to heart will make life a whole lot easier.
Dating in the 21st century is like buying drinks right after you turn 21.
You have to go through a lot of terrible ones that leave you feeling awful before you find the right one. I know your friends are probably telling you something like “he’s just playing hard to get” or “he probably really is staying home on Saturday night with his grandma.” But that’s only because it’s awkward to tell your crying friend that he probably just doesn’t like you. You have two choices; start dating people who like you or start checking your mail for restraining orders.
Spending your life cutting calories and analyzing every aspect of your body is like going out to dinner with your friends and spending the night texting…a waste of time. And if you insist on discussing how “fat” you are, do it with a diary and not your friends…because you’ll probably get a bigger reaction from a diary than real people. Skinny girls who talk about how “fat” they are can only be compared to people who chew with their mouths open, irritating and completely unnecessary.
I know it’s hard to imagine now but you won’t be unemployed, single and horribly confused about life forever. Just look at Watergate, even that worked itself out in the end. So stop spending your time worrying and have faith that your life will turn out how it’s supposed to.
