I can accept people who think 5 miles over the speed limit gives them a right to be in the fast lane and people who insist on digging in their purse for exact change at the grocery store. People who just don’t respond to e-mails however are unforgivable. I mean really? How long would it take you to send me a quick email saying, “thanks for contacting us yet again but we aren’t giving you the job, good luck on your welfare application.
” I just did it and it took me under 20 seconds. I get it, you receive hundreds of applications every day and can’t respond to them all, fair enough. But if you’ve responded to my follow up e-mail telling me you’re reviewing resumes and will be in touch, BE IN TOUCH. Don’t just leave me sitting here holding out hope that I’m still in the running just to find myself sobbing into a pint of Ben and Jerry’s six months later. At some point in life you were young and someone responded to your emails or in some cases responded to your telegraphs so THROW ME A BONE AND RESPOND.
If we were face to face and I asked you if any decisions had been made you wouldn’t just stare at me in silence and not respond. So don’t do it via email, have some compassion people.
